Internal Product Owner (P) - Corporate - Belfast

Main purpose of role & level in the business:

Workday, Kimble and Salesforce are the key products used in Kainos to manage the business and enable growth. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the business systems used by Kainos meet the needs of our users, iterating and continuously improving the systems based on feedback and in response to changes required to support a high growth organisation.  You will also be responsible for investigating new services as well as post deployment and change management of existing services to help deliver business value and address user pain points.

The Internal Product Owner is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks which will include, but is not limited to, the following duties: 

  • Develop a strategy and vision for Kainos business systems to maximise use of the products within our business context, ensuring users are utilising the systems to their full potential
  • Identify from both a business and user perspective issues that need solved and be capable of prioritising spend based on return on investment (ROI) and strategic intent
  • Manage the roadmap at a portfolio level for multiple systems, defining the desired outcomes with key stakeholders, success measures and report back on these once live
  • Understand and amend existing processes in order to deliver operational efficiencies to the business as well as provide users with an efficient service
  • Work closely with various internal functions to successfully role out new products or iterations
  • Schedule / co-ordinate the rollout of system upgrades to users across the business
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts at systems suppliers, with focus on maximising the service we receive as a customer
  • Develop a Kainos project governance structure to cover change management processes and procedures, with stakeholders within Finance and across the wider Kainos business
  • Evaluates COTs products and suitability for Kainos  
  • Identify and manage risks and dependences
  • Develop a triage process with associated SLAs
  • Triage system change requests and decide priority, level of complexity, and appropriate course of action
  • Manage a small team of system administrators / consultants       
  • Identify and lead Product Champions across the business to ensure system adoption is permeated throughout Kainos

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Evidence of implementing change to existing business processes
  • Experience of enabling continuous improvement based on user feedback
  • Evidence of project management experience
  • Evidence of making decisions backed up by data
  • Experience of managing and collaborating with 3rd party vendors
  • Sound communication skills including ability to formally present to senior client and conference audiences
  • Able to get buy-in from the business. Able to work with scant information and to articulate that in abstract terms.
  • Comfortable prioritising work and meeting deadlines

Nice to have requirements:

  • Extensive experience in either Workday, Salesforce or Kimble

Other considerations:

  • Travel will not be required, except on limited occasions for training, conferences etc.
