Placement Trainee Travel Assistant

You’ll work as part of a team of travel professionals to book travel arrangements for Kainos staff at all locations, including booking flights, hotel and apartment reservations and car hire.  You will consult with Kainos staff to ensure that all aspects of staff travel are seamlessly arranged, assist in identifying advance travel requirements to promote effective cost management, and prepare quotations for travellers. You’ll be able to work quickly and proactively as issues might arise to reschedule flights, remedy travel problems and resolve scheduling conflicts.  You will also assist with any administration duties around the set up of long term apartments.

Minimum (essential) requirements:  

  • You are currently studying a Travel/Tourism related degree
  • You apply all relevant standards and procedures to your own work.  
  • You’re capable of working with limited supervision. 
  • You comply with all confidentiality and non-disclosure policies and/or agreements and ensure security of information at all times. 
  • We are a customer focused business, so people with strong communication skills, who are professional, credible and open is a must  
  • We all work in teams here in Kainos – strong team skills are crucial 
  • We pride ourselves in doing our best and delivering to a high standard, so attention to detail and having a high quality focus is definitely required.  
  • You’ll have a flexible, "can do" attitude, with the ability to manage your own time and enthusiastic to learn, with willingness to work flexible hours at peak times
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure, taking a balanced view of client and traveller demands and Kainos commercials.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Self-starter, able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Amicable and approachable with a mature, non-confrontational style
  • Ability to work in target driven environment
